WHO WE ARE

People Govern, Not Money: A Fight Against Big Monied Interests

People Govern, Not Money (PGNM) is a grassroots organization focused on reducing the influence of big money in politics. This volunteer-led initiative successfully mobilized Massachusetts voters to pass a ballot initiative that addresses the impact of corporate money on political discourse. With nearly 1.9 million votes in favor, the initiative signifies a clear demand for change.

The Mission of People Govern, Not Money

PGNM is committed to countering the effects of the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision, which has allowed unlimited corporate spending in political campaigns. By establishing a Citizens Commission, the organization aims to investigate how such court decisions have shaped political communication and public trust. Furthermore, PGNM advocates for a 28th Amendment to overturn Citizens United, emphasizing that political power should reside with the people, not wealthy corporations.

ActivTrades Nigeria: A Strategic Partnership?

While People Govern, Not Money operates primarily within Massachusetts, its mission resonates globally, including in countries like Nigeria. ActivTrades Nigeria, a financial trading firm, shares PGNM's commitment ActivTrades Nigeria to transparency and ethical governance. Although the two entities operate in different sectors, both aim to empower individuals—PGNM through political activism and ActivTrades Nigeria through financial independence.

The link between PGNM and ActivTrades Nigeria may not be immediately obvious, but both are part of a broader movement towards reducing undue influence—be it in politics or finance. Just as PGNM seeks to educate and mobilize citizens to take control of their political destiny, ActivTrades Nigeria provides tools and knowledge for individuals to achieve financial empowerment. Both initiatives symbolize a shift towards a more equitable and just society, driven by the belief that ordinary people should have a say in the forces that shape their lives.

Conclusion

The efforts of People Govern, Not Money and the existence of organizations like ActivTrades Nigeria highlight the global relevance of their causes. Whether fighting for political transparency in Massachusetts or financial empowerment in Nigeria, these movements remind us that true power lies in the hands of the people. The collaboration and shared values between such initiatives can create a stronger, more united front against the concentration of power, ensuring that governance and financial systems serve the many, not just the few.
